I am so lucky to just live minutes from downtown Savannah and be able to shoot amazing weddings and engagement sessions there, BUT I love to just go around the corner from my home and get to “do it up country style”. I moved here 18 years ago and do not take for granted the beautiful county that I live in. Brandalyn and Matt brought their boots, truck and cute southern accents and were ready to play for the camera. They are so sweet and are so laid back about their wedding this fall, they just want to be married. Enjoy.

Every girl remembers the moment that she got engaged and I am fortunate enough to get to relive this moment through a shoot such as this. Brad planned this as a surprise for Misty for quite a while. She had pretty much decided that after almost five years (next month) of being together, that they were not going to get engaged for quite some time. I casually mentioned to her that I was conducting mini-sessions on the beach and she talked Brad into it (tee hee). I cancelled it once and tried to reschedule it for October just to throw her off. We spent about half an hour shooting near a marina then headed over to the beach and they started picking up shells and there was a heart shaped one hiding there just for her. Yes, there are many other shots of them but I though I would just add a few of the “moment” here. Best Wishes to one of the sweetest couples that I know. It is a privilege to introduce Misty and Brad.

Taylor and Denny { Styled Couple Session}

I met Taylor and Denny last fall when I photographed Denny’s brother’s wedding. It was evident then that these two were very much in love and enjoy spending time together. Taylor was our Miss St. Patrick’s Day Queen 2011 and is no stranger to the camera and can not take a bad photo. It was Denny who surprised me with his quiet playfulness and I hope that they had as much fun during this session as we did. When you finally get to marry the girl of your dreams and your last name is Valentine, the obvious dream wedding takes place on or around Valentine’s day and includes the color red. Laura and Tommy are both singer/songwriters and owners of Lovenotes Records LLC and were ready to hit the stage!! They chose the lovely Flint Hill Mansion for the ceremony and reception and the weather could have not been better for their touching outdoor ceremony.

Micah and Josh { Rincon Wedding Photographer }

It was a pleasure to spend the day with Micah and her family on New Years Day. I have known them for many years and they are like family to me. This was the first time that I got to spend time with Josh and he fit right in!! I had been hearing about him for months from Micah and agree with her that they are truly meant for each other. Micah got ready at her parent’s home with her daughter and she and Josh spent some time together before the ceremony taking pictures around the countryside. I was really happy that they planned it that way as their ceremony was at a later time and they were just excited to get away from the hustle and bustle at the house and have fun in front of the camera. The best part for them was the fact that after the ceremony, it was straight to the reception to spend time with their families and friends and nobody was kept waiting. Their colors were festive and bright and their favours from the Vintage Bee Company were a big hit. Best wishes to Micah and Josh.

At a recent bridal show held here in Savannah I came across a booth that was so excellent!!! Five vendors shared it including a photographer from the area that totally rocks. I took some pictures of some of the crafty details that made me swoon. I did not include a wide table shot because it featured many of the photographer’s photographs and she might not think it cool if I did that but it was so perfectly designed by AGH Event Maker. Fabrika provided many of the items to include the scented sachets that they gave away and I thought they would make the cutest favors. The shop offers bridal showers where the bridal party comes in, brings their own food and makes crafts to use on the wedding day such as the pictured table numbers. How much fun is that!!! Another favorite of mine was the fabric wedding invitation with the two birds on one side and the details on the other.
French Knot Stitch Boutique and Wild Fibre also had their wares displayed throughout the table and on additional displays. I love the signs for the bride and groom for the engagement photos, wedding day, thank you cards and even save the date signage. All of these vendors were so full of energy and so very creative. I think every bride should have a designer for her wedding to pull that look together, even the smallest wedding with the most simple details can be breathtaking if done by professionals. Tori and Remi {Styled Engagement Session}

Victoria and Ryan, otherwise known as Tori and Remi are celebrating their wedding this weekend in Savannah. When they hired me to shoot their wedding, they had already had two beautiful engagement sessions with friends from SCAD. We went back and forth on what to do for a session and decided to just spend some time together in the gated community on Hilton Head where they live. Some of these pictures look like they were taken beside a serene pond with big live oaks but it is just steps from the main road (I stood in the street for most of the shots) during the very busy community at rush hour. There is a private beach and we were able to enjoy a few quick shots before sunset. Tori and Remi are heading to California shortly after their wedding to make a new life together in the music business and this weekend is going to be bittersweet for all of their freinds and family.

I love SKIRT and they love me. When Denise and I took Stephanie out for this trash the dress shoot, I had no idea it would end up blogged on Offbeat Bride and in the Charleston Skirt Magazine. Maybe I should remember to post to flickr more often.

April, Mike and Mason { Lifestyle Family Photographer }

This family had a lot to celebrate and decided that coming to Tybee for a short vacation was just the answer. Mason had just turned two years old, Mike and April were celebrating 5 years of marriage (and still act like newlyweds) and April is getting ready to celebrate a milestone birthday. We had plenty of sunshine (too much) but after all of the rain it was great to see.

Actually they are now married!! I did not post this blog after the E-shoot because I knew that Mary was doing a guestbook with her engagement pictures. If you attended the wedding, then you have seen these. If not, you missed a great time and I hope you enjoy these few shots of them in downtown Savannah. Mary is finishing her studies to become a teacher and she and Chad enjoy fishing, hence the “teacher-fisherman” pose. Weddings pics coming next.

Miki wanted photographs of her and Jason (and doggies) on the beach before he went to have surgery. Miki has the most amazing skin and one of her eyes is half blue and half brown. We had a great time, surgery went well and they are back home cuddling up with their furry childen.

Emily and Robert {Tybee Island Engagement Session}

I first met Emily and Robert at a wedding that I shot with Denise Gonsales last year. This gorgeous couple was easy to notice on the dance floor. When Emily contacted Denise about doing her wedding and Denise was booked, I was so excited that she recommended me. Everywhere I go, I run into people talking about this upcoming June wedding at Lovely lane Chapel.

Update. Emily and Robert were married on lovely St. Simons Island. Enjoy this short video of the highlights.

I was taking pictures at a wedding reception when a woman I know asked if I could take a few of her son. That little tyke was a redhead so of course it was a big YES!! I took him to the field, found haystacks and a tractor and told him to play. This was in full sun so we did the best we could with the few minutes we had.

Christina and Mika

I had the pleasure of shooting with Katie Mcgee last weekend at the Mansion on Forsyth. Mika is the drummer for Filter and Christina is a gorgeous make up artist. They have been together for seven years and they and their families were ready to celebrate. The entire wedding party was so much fun and even the guys drew stares everywhere they went. Guests came from all over the globe to join them in Savannah. Christina’s mom and dad dressed up as Ricky and Lucy to entertain the couple, friends sang for them and even the bride and her sisters did the song “Sisters” for Mika. I hope these pictures show just a bit of the fun that was had by everyone, whether they were 2 or 92!!!
