At a recent bridal show held here in Savannah I came across a booth that was so excellent!!! Five vendors shared it including a photographer from the area that totally rocks. I took some pictures of some of the crafty details that made me swoon. I did not include a wide table shot because it featured many of the photographer’s photographs and she might not think it cool if I did that but it was so perfectly designed by AGH Event Maker. Fabrika provided many of the items to include the scented sachets that they gave away and I thought they would make the cutest favors. The shop offers bridal showers where the bridal party comes in, brings their own food and makes crafts to use on the wedding day such as the pictured table numbers. How much fun is that!!! Another favorite of mine was the fabric wedding invitation with the two birds on one side and the details on the other.
French Knot Stitch Boutique and Wild Fibre also had their wares displayed throughout the table and on additional displays. I love the signs for the bride and groom for the engagement photos, wedding day, thank you cards and even save the date signage. All of these vendors were so full of energy and so very creative. I think every bride should have a designer for her wedding to pull that look together, even the smallest wedding with the most simple details can be breathtaking if done by professionals. I still get so many compliments on Tori and Remi’s engagements shoot and if I could bottle up their chemistry and sell it, I’d be a millionaire!! It will come as no surprise that they brought this love and energy to their wedding day. Honestly this couple had the best time with their friends and families and I picked out just a few pictures to show some highlights:
1. The dress

5. Some dancing, if you were there, you know what I mean. You have to watch the video (when it comes out) to see the thriller dance, money dance and all of the rest. Here are 18 shots of them dancing during their first dance and Remi singing his song (Yes, he wrote her a song and sang it to her).

Ashley and TJ { Savannah Wedding Photographer }

In September I spent a couple of hours with Ashley and TJ discussing their upcoming wedding at the Belle House in Statesboro. That seemed so long ago and now it is three days away. I thought TJ was going to be very shy but he turned out to be quite the opposite and I am looking forward to this Saturday. This entire wedding party is going to be so much fun and most of them graduated from South Effingham High School together and are ready to reunite. Oh, and I have seen Ashley in her wedding dress and TJ better be ready!!!

Weddings For Warriors 2010 {Savannah Wedding Photographer}

Denise Gonsales and I volunteered again for the second annual Weddings for Warriors here in Savannah at the First African Baptist Church. (Please read the history of this church, amazing) As wedding photographers, shooting 3 weddings/vow renewals in 2 hours is not exactly what you would call an ideal way to spend the day before Veterans Day. We called it an Honor. Between Denise and I, we have 3 sons, 3 nephews and countless friends now serving in the Armed Forces. Denise worked for the military for years and her husband is a retired Black Hawk pilot. My husband and I both proudly served in the Air Force. We both are quite aware of the fact that we can never, never give back what we owe to these men and women in uniform. I don’t think a few months goes by that Denise does not get a phone call that another friend has been killed in action and I have only known her for three years. The military life is a hard life. Two hours of our day – no problem.
Our three grooms were all Marines who wore their uniforms proudly and made sure that we knew that the Marine Corp was celebrating their 235th birthday that day.
The brides gowns were provided free of charge by Alfred Angelo. The flowers were donated by Kiwi Fleur and Adina at Frilly Bloomers.

Tori and Remi {Styled Engagement Session}

Victoria and Ryan, otherwise known as Tori and Remi are celebrating their wedding this weekend in Savannah. When they hired me to shoot their wedding, they had already had two beautiful engagement sessions with friends from SCAD. We went back and forth on what to do for a session and decided to just spend some time together in the gated community on Hilton Head where they live. Some of these pictures look like they were taken beside a serene pond with big live oaks but it is just steps from the main road (I stood in the street for most of the shots) during the very busy community at rush hour. There is a private beach and we were able to enjoy a few quick shots before sunset. Tori and Remi are heading to California shortly after their wedding to make a new life together in the music business and this weekend is going to be bittersweet for all of their freinds and family.

I love SKIRT and they love me. When Denise and I took Stephanie out for this trash the dress shoot, I had no idea it would end up blogged on Offbeat Bride and in the Charleston Skirt Magazine. Maybe I should remember to post to flickr more often.

Lindsay and Lee Tied the Knot!! {Savannah Wedding Photographer}

Lindsay and her beautiful girls played in the park while Lee and his crazy groomsmen hung out in the alley until ceremony time. The couple wed at Ardsley Park Baptist Church in Savannah, where Linsday’s parents and grandparents were both wed. Did I mention that her mother’s 6 brothers and sisters were maried there and that ALL of their marriages are still going strong!! What a history. Best wishes to Lindsay and Lee and I can’t wait to hear about the honeymoon.

Actually they are now married!! I did not post this blog after the E-shoot because I knew that Mary was doing a guestbook with her engagement pictures. If you attended the wedding, then you have seen these. If not, you missed a great time and I hope you enjoy these few shots of them in downtown Savannah. Mary is finishing her studies to become a teacher and she and Chad enjoy fishing, hence the “teacher-fisherman” pose. Weddings pics coming next.

Trash the Dress

I know that there are nicer ways to describe this shoot “Highlight the Dress” “Mess the Dress” “A Day in your Dress” BUT I love the term TRASH THE DRESS (even though it is not harmed) (By the way, what are you going to do with it, your daughter IS NOT going to wear it). We thought a junkyard was the most appropriate place to bring Stephanie to enjoy wearing a wedding dress again. After the shoot Denise and I took Stephanie downtown and I believe she got a few marriage proposals. I’m assuming that they figured she was already dressed!!!
